Downtown building comes back to life

Residents gathered at the Hynds building Friday night with goal of making it a hotspot for the art community
By Baylie EvansLive music, art and some creative lighting turned the concrete floors and exposed duct work into an artsy, warehouse chic cocktail party. It was the kickoff fundraiser for LightsOn!, a project aiming to bring art and energy to downtown Cheyenne.
High heels tapped the concrete floors as hundreds of visitors sipped champagne, nibbled on desserts and studied the art on the walls.
The tickets, at the door, will go toward creating an artist in residency program, studio space for art classes and perhaps a master's degree art program. LightsOn! is working to match a grant from the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund.
The proposed studio space will be located on the first floor of the multi story building.
In addition to a fundraiser, the event was also an introduction, said Nancy Abraham, a member of the LightsOn! group.
"We didn't think it was right to put something in "Buy Cheap Jintropin Online" here and not say 'hello' in a big way," she said.
A Cheyenne native herself, she said it has been disappointing to see downtown Viagra Ireland Pharmacy become more and more vacant.

The art displayed was created by Brian Haberman, also a member of LightsOn!

Haberman grew up here and left to pursue art, a common occurrence for Cheyenne artists, he said. Art requires diversity and risk, and this project will provide local artists with opportunities that they never had here before.
Monica Puente and Cheryl Wegner said they were excited about bringing art to the downtown.

She hopes that revitalizing the Hynds building will encourage others to do the same, because if it can be done there, it can be done anywhere downtown.
